2016 Championship Week Even Better Than Last Year!

Our Second Annual Championship Week at the Mississauga Canoe Club was another great success! From Thursday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 5th, Port Credit was a beehive of activity as family, friends and community members came out to enjoy a fun-filled week of events on the Credit River, including the Elementary Dragon Boat Festival, the Mississauga Home Regatta and the always exciting Mississauga Dragon Boat Festival.

Last weekend’s International results earned by Chris Chambers and Daniel Cuba in Mexico started things off for the club.
The Elementary Dragon Boat Festival (EDBF), saw nearly 750 young paddlers, spectators, parents and volunteers from the Mississauga community enjoyed an awesome afternoon on the river.

The Home Regatta was a massive success! Our Youth Racing Program showed off its strength (not just in numbers) but in ability and discipline, High Performance and Masters athletes raced hard throughout the day, and our awesome volunteers rocked with excellent work in all areas of need.

The weather held off until literally the last five minutes of the Mississauga Dragon Boat Festival. With more than 40 competing crews, it was a great day of racing and a great Dragon Boat atmosphere.
